January 3, 2006

Radio City Entertainment

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing in regards to the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Bookings position that is available at Radio City Entertainment. I am very interested in the area of event planning, booking and promotions. My biggest passion is working in venues with special events. I have an extensive background in music and am passionate about sharing my love of music with others. Your company would allow me to be a part of my biggest passion, which is exposing others to how wonderful music and events can be.
I am a graduate of Providence College in Providence, RI with a music education degree and I will be graduating with my MAT from Sacred Heart University in 2006. I was a chorus teacher and have been involved with performance for many years including music as outreach and planning performances and performed personally in events.
My original background is music education and I was a chorus teacher at Wooster Middle School in Stratford, CT for one year. During this time I managed close to 300 students with concerts and outreach programs. Our chamber chorus would sing at events in the community for holidays.
My job as a Resident Hall Director allowed me to incorporate music into event coordinating and planning. As an RHD I was part of the Human Resources Team with planned fun and educational events for the student body of Sacred Heart. In addition to planning educational events, I also planned shows and concerts as the Holy Grounds Coffeehouse Music Manager. I worked with artists such as The Alternate Routes, Throwback, Todd Martin, Akiva, Bess Rogers, Larissa Delorenzo, Christina Abbott, and Bowling For Soup. I enjoyed creating publicity and promotional material and was also solely responsible for payment negotiations.
Most recently, I interned at StarPolish in the Artist Management Department. I worked with musicians to promote their concerts and CDs through Internet marketing and grassroots promotions. I organized promotional materials for street team members and venues. I enjoyed working in the small family environment of StarPolish and have learned the most assisting in all tasks in the office.
I feel I am qualified for this position at Radio City. I have been a member of promotional street teams and have worked in venues such as The Acoustic Café in Bridgeport, CT. I have always been the happiest when working with musicians, being a musician myself. I have worked in the management aspect of the entertainment industry and in venues. I have the organizational, managerial and people skills to work with others to enhance my passion for music. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully,
